Sanki
Created as part of the course Typography: foundations, presented by Mélissa Pilon at the École de design de l’UQAM.

Sanki is a logotype created for an imagined eastern european comfort food restaurant. Although inspired by the cyrillic ‘vyaz’ style of lettering, some adjustments were made to improve legibility for the latin alphabet. The high contrast and angularity of the vyaz style served as a base, but the letters are modernized by softening the sharp angles and adding slight serifs. An illustrative variation on the logotype was created based on motifs from 18th century slavic textiles.
